What this site collects, and what happens to it

Updated November 4, 2026

This policy explains what powerlawperformance.com and the Power Law Performance newsletter collect about you, why, who handles it, how long it’s kept and the choices you have. Power Law Performance is published by Broad Eye Solutions LLC, which decides how your information is used. Some privacy laws call that the “controller.”

In short
  • You give your email address when you sign up. Nothing is saved until you tick the consent box.
  • It’s used to send what you signed up for: the newsletter, the welcome emails and the PDFs you ask for.
  • It’s kept in a Google Sheet only Broad Eye Solutions can open, and in MailerLite, which sends the emails.
  • It’s never sold, and never shared for anyone else’s marketing.
  • The site sets no tracking cookies and shows no ads.
  • You can unsubscribe in one click, and ask for a copy, a correction or deletion at any time.

  16. How to reach Broad Eye Solutions

1. Who’s responsible

Broad Eye Solutions LLC, PO Box 3243, Wakefield, MA 01880, United States, publishes Power Law Performance and is responsible for the information described here.

This policy covers powerlawperformance.com and the emails sent from it. Broad Eye Solutions’ other websites have their own privacy policies.

2. What’s collected

What you give when you sign up. Every form on the site, whether it’s for the newsletter, a PDF or a tool’s download, sends the same few things:

  • your email address
  • which form you used and the page it was on
  • the campaign tags in the link that brought you, if it had any (the utm_ part of an address)
  • the page that sent you to the site, the country your connection comes from, and your browser’s name and version
  • for a PDF, which guide or article you asked for and the version you were sent
  • the date and time, that you ticked the consent box, and which wording of it you agreed to

No form asks for your name, phone number or payment details, and the site has no accounts or logins.

What you send by email. If you reply to an email or write to an address on the site, your message, your email address and anything you include reach Broad Eye Solutions’ mailbox.

What the emails record. MailerLite records whether an email is opened and which of its links are clicked, with the time and the general device and location details that come with them.

What’s collected automatically. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, handles your connection’s IP address and browser details to deliver each page and keep the site secure. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you. Cloudflare Turnstile checks sign-ups for bots, using information about your browser and connection. The site itself doesn’t keep your IP address.

Sensitive information. The site doesn’t ask for or collect sensitive information, such as health, financial account or government ID details.

3. How it’s used

Your information is used to:

  • send what you signed up for: the newsletter, the welcome emails, the PDFs you ask for, and a newer version of a guide you asked for
  • answer your emails and requests
  • see which pages, links and campaigns bring sign-ups, so the site can improve
  • keep the site, the forms and the emails secure, and keep out spam and bots
  • keep a record of your consent and of any request to unsubscribe
  • meet legal obligations

It isn’t used for advertising, isn’t combined with information from other sites to profile you, and isn’t used to make automated decisions about you.

4. The legal bases for using it

This section applies if you’re in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. Your information is used on these bases:

  • Consent, for sending the newsletter, the welcome emails and the PDFs. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing. That doesn’t affect anything sent before.
  • Legitimate interests, for keeping the site secure, stopping spam and bots, counting page views, and seeing which links bring sign-ups. None of these identifies you on other sites or outweighs your rights.
  • Legal obligation, where a law requires information to be kept or disclosed.

5. Who handles it

Your information is handled by Broad Eye Solutions and by the services that run the site for it, each under its own data protection terms:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, runs the sign-up forms, counts page views, checks for bots and forwards email sent to powerlawperformance.com addresses.
  • Google (Google Workspace) holds the sign-up sheet and the mailbox your emails reach.
  • MailerLite stores your subscription, sends the emails and hosts the PDFs.

Your information is never sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing. It goes beyond these services only if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety or rights, or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of Broad Eye Solutions’ business. In that case, this policy still applies to it.

The site links to other sites, including the booking calendar (Google Calendar), abovebaselinepro.com, broadeyesolutions.com, GitHub, and the books and papers in the Library. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

7. Cookies, analytics and browser storage

The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies and runs no ad pixels.

  • Analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies, without fingerprinting and without identifying you.
  • Bot checks. Cloudflare Turnstile checks the sign-up forms for bots without tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie if it needs to check a connection for abuse. It’s strictly necessary, and it isn’t used to track you.
  • The tools. The tools under Resources save what you type in your own browser (its local storage), so it’s still there when you come back. It stays on your device and is never sent to the site. Clearing your browser’s data for the site removes it.

Nothing on the site needs your consent today, so there’s no cookie banner. If the site ever adds analytics or advertising tools that use cookies, this page will say so first, and you’ll be asked before they run.

8. Where it’s processed

Broad Eye Solutions is in the United States. Cloudflare delivers pages from data centers around the world, and Google and MailerLite may process your information in the United States and the European Union. Where information leaves the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, these providers use safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

9. How long it’s kept

  • Your sign-up information is kept while you’re subscribed.
  • When you unsubscribe, your email address and the record of your unsubscribing are kept, so you aren’t emailed again. The rest is kept until you ask for it to be deleted.
  • Emails you send are kept in the mailbox until you ask for them to be deleted.
  • Cloudflare’s and MailerLite’s own records are kept for the periods in their own policies.

Ask at [email protected], and your information is deleted from the sheet, from MailerLite and from the mailbox.

10. How it’s kept safe

  • Every page and form is served over an encrypted connection.
  • Only Broad Eye Solutions can open the sign-up sheet, and only the site’s own forms can add to it.
  • The forms save nothing until the consent box is ticked, and they check for bots.
  • Access to the services that hold your information is limited to Broad Eye Solutions.

No way of sending or storing information is completely secure, so absolute security can’t be promised. If a breach affects your information, you’ll be told as the law requires.

11. Children

Power Law Performance is written for business readers. It isn’t directed at anyone under 18 and doesn’t knowingly collect their information. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe a child has signed up, email [email protected] and the information will be deleted.

12. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

  • unsubscribe at any time, with the link in every email
  • ask for a copy of the information kept about you
  • ask for it to be corrected
  • ask for it to be deleted

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to restrict or object to how it’s used, to get it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Canada, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the address you subscribed with, so the request can be matched to your information. You’ll get a reply within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires it. A request costs you nothing.

13. Do-Not-Track and Global Privacy Control

The site doesn’t track you across other websites, and it doesn’t sell or share your information for advertising. So there’s nothing for a Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off today. If that changes, a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser will be honored as a request to opt out.

14. Privacy rights in US states

California and a number of other states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas and Virginia, give their residents rights under their own privacy laws. In the last 12 months, the site has collected these categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers: your email address, and your IP address as it passes through Cloudflare
  • Internet activity: the pages and links that brought you, and whether emails are opened and links clicked
  • General location: the country your connection comes from

It hasn’t collected sensitive personal information as those laws define it. None of it has been sold, or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising, and none of it is used for profiling.

You have the right to know what’s collected and how it’s used, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of any sale, targeted advertising or profiling. You won’t be treated differently for using any of these rights. You can act through an authorized agent, who will be asked to show your permission. If a request is declined, you can appeal by replying to the decision at [email protected]. If the appeal is declined too, you can contact your state’s attorney general.

15. Changes to this policy

This policy changes when the site changes what it collects or how it’s used, and the date at the top moves with it. If a change would use your information in a new way, you’ll be asked first.
